On this week’s Fresnolandia podcast, Jordan and Dani welcome Clayton Aldern, co-author of Homelessness is a Housing Problem, in a book club discussion with Fresno City Councilmember Miguel Arias and Fresno-based affordable housing developer Jessica Berzac, co-owner of Upholdings.

They tackle the roots of homelessness, why public perception of the unhoused – and the media – focus so much on drug use, and Fresno’s controversial anti-camping bans. They also talk about why it’s so hard to build more housing locally and what permanent supportive housing can, and can’t do.
