Good morning! It’s Isabel Santos-Gonzalez, Fresnoland’s Development and Communications Manager here.
Our mission at Fresnoland is to make policy public. Since our launch as a news organization in 2020, we have worked hard to produce high quality investigative and engagement driven journalism for residents of the central San Joaquin Valley community.
Today, we’re launching our year-end campaign through NewsMatch – a collaborative fundraising movement to support nonprofit, independent public service journalism.
For every dollar you donate to Fresnoland through December 31st, it gets doubled, thanks to large donors like the Knight Foundation and the Democracy Fund, among others.
We’re a team with deep roots in the Valley. Many of us grew up here and have boomeranged back after living across the country to make a difference in our hometown. We all care deeply about our region and how it’s covered. We’re still a young organization, but we’re growing. We have big plans on expanding our coverage even further in 2023.
Fresnoland is and always has been an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
We believe that being a nonprofit allows us to better serve our public service mission. Everything we create is free for all, and free for others to republish.
