Kerman City Council
The Kerman City Council makes decisions for the scope, direction and financing of city services. It also establishes policy that is administered and implemented by city staff, as well as establishing land-use policies through the General Plan and zoning regulations.
Meetings usually occur at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at Kerman City Hall, 850 S. Madera Avenue. It is also accessible through Zoom.
At its Feb. 8 meeting, the Kerman City Council learned about the possibility of a central valley rural crimes task force being established and discussed ending virtual meeting participation.
At the Jan. 25 Kerman City Council meeting, the council made policy changes that apply to alcohol beverage sales and the issuance of alcohol licenses in the city.
The council approved adoption of a pre-approved ADU Standard Plans Program and Homeowner’s Guide, awarded an $899K contract for a well emergency generator, and approved the deferral of development impact fees for Aloo, LLC.
The supervisors awarded a $570,211 contract for the rehabilitation of Vineland Avenue from California Avenue to Kearney Boulevard, met a new Kerman police officer and received a presentation on HOME-ARP and CDBG activities from the county.
The council met two new Kerman Police Officers, Francisco Vasquez and Danzel Gempis, and voted to cancel its November 23 and December 28 meetings due to holiday conflicts.
