☀️ Good morning! It’s Thursday, Aug. 22. This is Rob. For the first time in more than two months, temperatures in Fresno will stay below 90 today! Temperatures are expected to peak around 88 today! According to the National Weather Service in Hanford, the last time Fresno successfully failed to reach 90 was June 17, when temperatures topped out at 85. But it won’t last long. Meteorologist Andy Bollenbacher said triple-digit heat should return by Tuesday or Wednesday.
🏞️The City of Fresno is seeking public input on plans to redesign the community part on Tulare Avenue, between 10th and 11th streets. “Proposed amenities include a new play area, lighting, communal lawn, gathering spaces with tables and benches, and a walking loop.” A public meeting is set for 6 p.m. Aug. 27 at Jackson Elementary, 3750 E. 🏛️ Fresno’s economic development director has taken a new position as city manager of Shafter in Kern County, the Fresno Business Journal reported. Lance Lippincott has been Fresno’s economic development director for about two years. The Shafter City Council approved an employment agreement with Lippincott earlier this week with a base salary of $210,000.
