At the March 14 Madera County Board of Supervisors meeting, Sheriff Tyson Pogue said the Sheriff’s Office is continuing to watch for mudslides and that residents will receive an online property damage survey.

What happened: At the March 14 Madera County Board of Supervisors meeting, Sheriff Tyson Pogue said there were no significant issues caused by the storm in the county, but that the Sheriff’s Office remains focused on mudslides.

Pogue said that residents will receive an online survey in which they can report storm damage to their homes and personal property. Similarly, impacted Fresno County residents need to submit forms online so that the county can meet the damage threshold to qualify for relief from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Thirty cooperating agencies, department heads and community leaders are working with the Equal Opportunity Commission, he said.

Jared Carter from Public Works asked the public to be patient amidst road closures and repairs on Highway 99 and Avenue 12.
