Look, there are only so many ways to say it’s summer in Fresno. Yesterday was hot. Today will be hot. Tomorrow, too. Thankfully, however, today’s hot weather won’t be the grueling-why-has-God-forsaken-us heat from last week. The National Weather Service in Hanford calls for a high today of around 95 in Fresno. Temperatures are expected to gradually heat up in the coming days, with weekend heat returning to around 105.
🏀Fresno State still owes more than $42 million in debt associated with construction of the Save Mart Center two decades ago, The Fresno Bee’s Robert Kuwada reports, and with two massive debt payments looming, officials worry that ballooning costs could be passed on to lower-income students. “The higher debt payments could make it more difficult for the university to update the aging arena, or take on more debt to renovate a decaying Valley Children’s Stadium, where the Bulldogs play football,” Kuwada wrote. “Meeting the short-term debt obligation also could indirectly hit some of the more economically disadvantaged Fresno State students in the pocketbook.”
