How hot does it have to be outside to cook an egg on the sidewalk? After a relentless 30 seconds of Googling, I couldn’t find the answer, but apparently, the sidewalk itself needs to be around 150 degrees, according to science. (Also, I just found out there’s a town in Arizona that celebrates “National Sidewalk Egg Frying Day!” every year on the Fourth of July! Did you know about this? Why didn’t you tell me?) Anyway, it’s supposed to reach 107 this weekend in Fresno, so enjoy the high today of 94! I probably won’t try cooking sidewalk eggs this weekend because it will be too hot to go outside. Also, gross.
Join the Kings River Land Trust for a free photography exhibit and lecture with award-winning photographer and artist Larry Cusick. Participants can learn photography techniques, find a few local wildlife spots and learn “how nature, architecture, and people interplay through the lens.” The event is set for 11 a.m. Saturday (June 22) at the Woodward Park Regional Library, 944 E. 🏛️ The Madera Community Hospital could reopen as early as this fall, the Fresno Business Journal reported. The shuttered hospital received about $15 million of the roughly $57 million from the Distressed Hospital Loan Program. In a statement to the Journal, the hospital CEO says the money will help the hospital hire staff and improve patient equipment.
