🛣️In local news today, the messy saga of the countywide Measure C steering committee took another turn late Tuesday when the panel reinstated Fresno rep Brooke Ashjian less than a week after dismissing him for what the panel chair said were misleading media statements and personal attacks against other panel members. The panel chair tells Fresnoland that she was not pressured to reinstate Ashjian and only agreed to the move after Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer reportedly told her that Ashjian would follow the panel’s decorum rules. 🔬A former Madera charter school exec has been indicted by the California Justice Department which says Nicolas Retana embezzled from a charter school, securing jobs and perks for family members. In a news release this week the DOJ also said Retana “also had a personal relationship with a self-proclaimed sex worker turned relationship coach whom he paid $12,000 using school funds.” The Fresno Bee
