Temperatures are expected to remain in the high 90s through the weekend, creeping back up over 100 as Monday approaches. Wind might be a bigger problem in parts of Fresno County today, with gusts reaching 20 to 25 mph today, according to the National Weather Service.
🔥That wouldn’t be great news for firefighters battling a small string of wildfires sparked by lightning Monday in eastern Fresno County. Burning just outside Yokuts Valley, the “Fresno June Lightning Complex” fire ballooned to more than 7,000 acres as of Wednesday morning and was just 15% contained, according to Cal Fire. Evacuation orders remained in effect Wednesday for rural residents east of Avocado Lake and south of Pine Flat Lake. Residents under evacuation orders can head to the Red Cross center at Reedley College or the Fresno County Fairgrounds, KVPR reported.
