🗳️ It’s Election Day – Clovis residents, along with Tulare County and Bakersfield in the 20th Congressional District – get to elect their next representative to send to Washington, DC today. It’s a runoff between Bakersfield Assemblymember Vince Fong and Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux, both Republicans, for a reliably Republican district.
The winner of today’s contest will sit in Congress through the end of the year. Voters will, for a third time, cast their ballots in November to select a more permanent representative to serve a two-year term in Congress.
Fong hails establishment Republican endorsements from former Representative Kevin McCarthy (who he worked for) as well as former President Donald Trump. Boudreaux has instead focused on garnering local law enforcement endorsements throughout the south valley.

🏛️ The Fresno County Board of Supervisors has a full agenda today at their 9:30 a.m. meeting, from deciding whether to endorse a controversial ballot measure on homelessness and drug treatment, introducing new policies around illegal dumping and nuisance vehicles, and reviewing the sheriff’s offices’ cooperation with ICE.
