☀️ The National Weather Service extended its excessive heat warning for Fresno and the central San Joaquin Valley. Now expected to last until at least July 11, high temperatures should remain around 110 degrees for more than a week. Today’s hot and sunny weather should bring a high of around 109 and little to no wind. With the wind hiding from the heat, firefighters battling the June Lightning Complex fires in eastern Fresno County have nearly contained the blaze. The string of fires has consumed more than 10,000 acres since igniting June 24. As of Wednesday morning, containment was listed at 94%. Meanwhile, the Basin Fire, burning northwest of Fresno, has burned nearly 14,000 acres since June 24 and was just 26% contained Wednesday morning.
