☀️ Good morning! It’s Thursday, Aug. 8. This is Rob. Good news! Cooler weather is on its way — but not today. The National Weather Service calls for a high of around 103 this afternoon, a sharp drop from Wednesday’s 110, but still ugly. Forecasters expect temperatures to continue falling gradually over the next week, dipping (just) below the century mark starting early next week.

The now 34-year-old nine-time All-Star made news earlier this summer when he signed a four-year, $212 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. The free event will feature a back-to-school giveaway with backpacks, iPads, bikes, and a PlayStation 5. Doors are expected to open at noon, with the championship game at 2 p.m. and the finale at 4 p.m.
