Expect a high of around 104 today and Friday as the National Weather Service’s heat advisory is set to expire. Weekend temperatures in Fresno will dip to around 103 on Saturday and 100 on Sunday.

🆕A two-decade effort to bring a new casino to Madera County will culminate Saturday at a groundbreaking for the new North Fork Mono Casino & Resort, the Fresno Business Journal reported. “The project has been in the works for nearly 20 years,” the Journal reported, “having to pass through a multi-decade administrative approval process and delayed over the years by law lawsuits, including one from Stand up for California, a statewide activist group that opposes gaming developments.”
