🌦️ Good morning! It’s Thursday, Sept. 19. Early-morning rain showers and thunderstorms should give way to sunny skies by the afternoon. The National Weather Service in Hanford calls for a high today of around 80 with rain possibly returning this evening. Mostly sunny the rest of the week as temperatures creep back into the 90s over the weekend.

🎥 The public is invited to a screening of “It’s Basic,” a documentary film about guaranteed basic income programs like the one launched in Fresno earlier this year. The event, hosted by the Center for Community Voices at Fresno State, features former Stockton mayor and guaranteed basic income proponent Michael Tubbs. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at the Maya Cinemas Fresno 16, 3090 East Campus Pointe Drive. The event is scheduled to run from 6 to 8 p.m. More information

🎓Gisselle Medina, Fresnoland’s Religion and Culture reporter, is working on a story about Fresno Pacific University’s LGBTQ+ presence on campus and the university’s past decision to reject an official LGBTQ+ club. They are interested in speaking with a few LGBTQ+ students about their experiences at FPU and any challenges they’ve faced or continue to face, especially at a religious institution.
