Reports of a 120-degree day looming over Fresno were false, multiple news outlets reported Thursday. July 6 in Fresno is only expected to reach somewhere around 112. Weekend temperatures in Fresno are expected around 100, with more dry, windy weather complicating firefighting efforts on Saturday and Sunday.

🏮 The Fresno Buddhist Temple will be hosting the 78th Annual Obon- Festival of Lanterns from 4  to 10 p.m. Saturday. The festival, open to all ages, is free to attend and will feature “Asian flair” foods (traditional and non-traditional), dance, and drinks. Visit Fresno County)

🏛️ The Fresno City Council on Thursday accepted $20 million in federal funding through the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development toward the construction of a new senior center at 4343 N. Blackstone Ave. It will be the first dedicated city-wide senior center. The City Council also approved a rate increase for trash collection and reserved a COVID-era policy that allowed residents to participate in council meetings remotely.
