After a nearly month-long heatwave that included the hottest day ever recorded on Earth, temperatures are expected to sink below the century this weekend. The National Weather Service in Hanford calls for a high today of around 105. The Weather Service’s excessive heat warning is scheduled to expire tonight. Friday’s heat should check in around 102 before tumbling to around 92 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.
🥳 Fresno city leaders invite the public to celebrate the renaming of Cesar Chavez Boulevard, formerly Kings Canyon Road. The celebration is set for 3 p.m. Friday, July 26 at the Fresno Center, 4855 E. Cesar Chavez Boulevard.
😷COVID-19 cases in the Central Valley are four times higher than a year ago, the Fresno Business Journal reported this week, citing new wastewater data analyzed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. Following the announcement, the Fresno County Department of Public Health encouraged residents to vaccinate and take precautions.“COVID-19 vaccines remain one of the most effective tools to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and prevent severe illness,” health officials said in a statement. “The FCDPH recommends all individuals 6 months and older get vaccinated.”
