☀️ Good morning! It’s Wednesday, July 31. This is Rob. In news that shocks exactly nobody, Fresno expects to see more hot weather today, with the National Weather Service calling for a high of around 98. In the coming days, Fresno should see all kinds of weather ranging from very hot and sunny to pretty hot and mostly sunny as temperatures climb back above the century mark heading into the weekend.

💃🏽 Shinzen Friendship Garden is hosting Music in the Garden on Aug. 1 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The night features music performed by the band “Ripe for the Pickin’,” who recreate the original energy and high-lonesome sound of Bluegrass music. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children—reserve online here.

🎨🌮 The future of Fresno’s popular downtown ArtHop event will be discussed at 6 p.m. tonight during a special meeting at City Hall. “The forum will address community feedback and discuss the future direction of ArtHop and Fulton Street events,” Councilmember Miguel Arias said on social media. The debate over ArtHop’s future was renewed in mid-July when Arias and other city leaders announced plans to force vendors indoors on Aug. 1. Floated as a temporary measure to protect event participants from Fresno’s brutal summer heat, city leaders also acknowledged that the growing number of unlicensed vendors was a contributing factor. While some business owners have cheered the idea, many food trucks and other mobile vendors — especially those with permits — told Fresnoland’s Julianna Morano that the city’s one-size-fits-all approach would hurt their businesses.
