Making policy public for all Central San Joaquin Valley residents.
Madera City Council
The Madera City Council makes decisions for the scope, direction and financing of city services. It also establishes policy that is administered and implemented by city staff, as well as establishing land-use policies through the General Plan and zoning regulations.
Meetings usually occur at 6 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 205 W. 4th Street in Madera. They are also available to public viewing and participation through Zoom.
At its May 3 meeting, the Madera City Council approved a letter of support for Senate Bill 227 that would extend unemployment benefits to undocumented workers; a resident says animal control is in ‘crisis’; and the city attorney resigns.
The Madera City Council approved a revised transit plan that adds connection points for Southeast Madera residents and a fourth route that goes further north to the relocated Amtrak station.
