The Fresno County Planning Commission makes decisions that impact local and area planning. The commission reviews and approves applications for land subdivisions, variances and conditional use permits, as well as making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on issues concerning zoning and the county’s general plan.
Meetings usually occur on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at the Fresno County Hall of Records at 2281 Tulare Street.

Fresno County Planning Commission approves waterski club, parcel rezone (1/26/23)
At the Jan. 26 Fresno County Planning Commission meeting, the commissioners approved a one-year extension allowing for a waterski club and event venue near Belmont and Del Rey Avenues.
Fresno County Planning Commission (11/17/22) 50-year approval for granite quarry + lot split continued + prayer chapel for Greek Orthodox Monastery
The commissioners approved continued surface mining operations of a granite quarry outside of Clovis for 50 years, a prayer chapel for the Greek Orthodox Monastery on Dunlap Road, and continued an application to split a lot into three parcels.
Fresno County Planning Commission (10/27/22) Industrial rezone moves forward + detached storage buildings denied + AT&T tower near Biola
The commissioners moved forward an industrial rezone for a nearly 20-acre parcel near Maple and American Avenues, denied additional storage buildings for a resident at Palm and Maroa Avenues and approved the installation of a new AT&T tower near Biola.
Fresno County Planning Commission (10/13/22) Ham radio tower denied + Riverdale Memorial District parking + gas station expansion
The commissioners denied an application for a 70-foot ham radio tower within a single-family residential zone, approved additional parking for Riverdale Memorial District and the expansion of an existing gas station.
Fresno County Planning Commission (6/9/22) Biogas reception + solid waste processing facilities approved
The commissioners approved the expansion of a biomethane gas facility to include a reception site and moved forward a solid waste processing facility.
