Legos, but for housing: It’s hardly a secret that it’s expensive to build affordable housing, and tariffs are only compounding that challenge, according to some homebuilders. But in Fresno, city leaders are optimistic that modular housing could make a comeback, making it cheaper and faster to build homes. Modular homes have become popular in waves — in my neighborhood, I have a hunch that a few homes may have been built on-site from the Sears kit that was common in the early 1900s. Ubiquitous political operative under investigation: following a contentious and disparaging political mailer sent by Fresno Future Forward, a group run by operative Alex Tavlian, California’s Fair Political Practices Commission has decided to investigate further, according to a letter obtained by Fresnoland.
