👍Good morning! It’s Friday, Aug. 23. This is Rob, and I was almost cold when I woke up today! Almost. Overnight lows dipped into the 60s for the first time in weeks, and today’s high is expected to top out at around 80. Snow is expected over the Tioga Pass! The National Weather Service in Hanford says Saturday’s high will be around 81 before creeping up to around 87 on Sunday. Triple-digit heat should return by early next week.

🏞️The City of Fresno is seeking public input on plans to redesign the community part on Tulare Avenue, between 10th and 11th streets. “Proposed amenities include a new play area, lighting, communal lawn, gathering spaces with tables and benches, and a walking loop.” A public meeting is set for 6 p.m. Aug. 27 at Jackson Elementary, 3750 E. 🥩California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced a settlement with Western Valley Meat Co., an affiliate of Central Valley Meat, over the planned purchase of Cargill, Inc., the Fresno Business Journal reported. Central Valley Meat announced the acquisition agreement in May. Under the settlement, Western Valley Meat must keep the Fresno plant operating for at least one year and retain at least 700 plant workers.
