What's at stake?
Fresno County Supervisor Districts 2 and 3, representing most of southwest, central and north Fresno - are up for grabs, along with Fresno City Council districts 2 and 6.
You may be ready to relax and enjoy the holidays, but candidates for local city and county races have been preparing for the March primary in Fresno for several months now.
Our team at Fresnoland will be interviewing candidates for the Fresno County Board of Supervisors and the Fresno City Council. We’ll take a deep dive on these races (along with local ballot measures) – looking at campaign donors, policy positions and endorsements.
City councilmembers have many responsibilities, from deciding on the city budget to allocating resources for affordable housing or new streetlights or getting deeply involved in zoning and land use decisions. They don’t make decisions about health care, education/schools, or immigration.
County supervisors have broader responsibilities than city councilmembers. They make land use and zoning decisions for land not included in cities (including county islands in the city). They manage social services, public health, behavioral health and libraries. They also manage a lot of resources dedicated for homelessness and mental health.
But first, we want to know: What do residents, like you, want to know from the candidates ahead of the March primary in Fresno? What would you like us to ask? Please fill out our survey below.
